PPW Challenge to the UCA – Net Zero Emissions by 2040

The Synod of Victoria and Tasmania, through the Synod Climate Action Taskforce is conducting a consultation across the Synod to gain feedback from all parts of the Synod on questions such as:

Should the Synod commit to a net-zero greenhouse gas emission target? If so, by when?

What emissions should be included?

Which parts of the Synod should be included in any commitment?

What actions would help congregations to further reduce their greenhouse gas emissions?

Given the significant financial costs that will be involved in achieving a netzero greenhouse gas emission target, how should the commitment be funded?
